I think so too - didn't think to add pictures to my previous post, but here are two very similar of my T4 Sport Lux with original orange ones and replacement white ones.

I thought the change improved things no end...

Ye this is mine with LED's in and I think it would look
Abit odd with clear lens.

Definitely clear. They do make all the S/V40s look a lot more modern in my opinion

i've got the orange ones. funny how a few bits of clear plastic can rejuvinate a car so much.......alas i'm to tight to invest in them.....so its 'morris minor' orange for me

I had clear bulbs in smoked lenses on my 03 V40, looked good until MOT time when it was given a failure as I was told they should be amber as they are side marker lights, guys at the MOT centre did debate it for a while though. Still looks ok though.

If the car has black plastic around it look at smoking them, if they are colour coded get clear ones

clear ones are modern but if you want to be seen from the side as intended then its orange for me.
