R20 tyre pressure advice please.
Im ordering four VREDESTEIN QUATRAC 5 XL - 275/40 R20 106W to fit the non-standard wheels fitted to my XC90 V8 (2007).
I assume the car originally had 18 or 19 wheels, so the tyre pressure info for the car is now incorrect. Can anyone suggest the best pressures for these (all-weather) tyres please? Many thanks, Stu. Ps. The best price Ive found so far is from https://www.bosstyres.com Last edited by Stu V8 2007; Dec 6th, 2017 at 14:34. |

Thanks, so it states the pressures for 255/45, and you're saying it's the same for 275/40 Swiss?

It's what Volvo recommends
See the manual, the tyre pressures are pretty much the same for the same diameter wheel regardless of tyre width. Tip: 2.7 bar on a 20" wheel makes for a very harsh ride, I tried this year and went back to 2.4bar. It also knocked out my wheel alignment on 2.7bar on UK bumpy roads. So go around 2.4bar and try it.

These tyres are allowed to carry 950 kg AT 290kPa/ 42psi up to 160km/99m/h.
The carmaker calculates for max permissable axleweights and up to max technical carspeed the advicepressures. So if you search those data on car, I can calculate a safe preszure for you. GreTings from a " Dutch pigheaded self-declared tyrepressure-specialist" Peter |

They are both in your vehicle owner's manual.

Uou can find MPAW at the VIN-plate , wich has to be on cars in Europe since about 1980.
I is front axle and II is rear axle. And the max speed you drive, and wont go over for even a minute in your use, you can deremine yourselfes. |
