Default Trying to find body panel self-tapping 'nuts'

Does anyone know where I can buy the self tapping nuts that secure the plastic panels onto the underneath of the car, covering the trailing arm front bushes ?

They're made from thin steel plate, formed into an 18mm hex nut, but with a small 'self tapping' hole in the middle. They thread onto studs that are welded onto the body. When I say threaded studs, they look more like rusty old wood screws !

I'm missing 3 out of 5 on one side, and I think 2 out of 4 on the other....

Morning!

Surely available from Volvo for a few pennies?

Get some of those replaced and you might find any mysterious rattles and knocks disappear; I certainly did when I found just one was loose!

Cheers,

Nick

Yes thanks - it's item 12.

My local Volvo indie wasn't able to get hold of them. They 'bodged' on some plastic clip thingies when I asked them to secure the panels properly. To be fair, they didn't charge me anything and it won't stop me going back there again.

Cubbington, if there's a way of me doing this mail order, and not wasting my local dealership's time purchasing a bag of nuts for......peanuts then can someone please let me know

Hi Semnoz,

Part 12 was the nut I tightened up on part 6, and what I thought was the exhaust knocking against the bodywork was cured!

I'd suggest using these guys:

https://www.volvopartshop.com/?gclid...SAAEgKksvD_BwE

They are actually the main dealer in Coventry, they've been really good at getting a few parts to me, including a couple of minor trim clips. I called rather than emailed - always nice to speak to a real person!

Hope that helps,

Nick
