Default Default drive mode (S90)

Hi guys,

I'm just wondering if there's a way to set the default start-up driving mode (Eco/Comfort/etc) or if you always have to change it manually? I've looked through the menus and can't see anything...

I basically have my "Individual" mode as Comfort mode with the "Dynamic" throttle response as it drives far better this way but still auto-stop/starts in traffic... I just want that to be what the car starts up with!

Not 100% but you can create a profile which might include it.

No, no matter what you do with profiles etc, the car will always start in comfort. I believe its to do with emissions regulations etc.

That's what is assumed and is probalby true.
But wouldn't emissions be (even) lower if it were possible to start in eco-mode?

That's true, but I suppose emissions figures have to be tested and quoted for all vehicles running 'normally', i.e. in their normal driving mode, which for Volvo is 'comfort'.

I think if the car started in 'eco' every-time, the complaint thread on here would be longer than the excessive road noise thread!!!

from volvo site. Strange, my A6 starts in the mode I leave it in regardless

COMFORT
This is the car's normal mode.

When the car starts, it is in the Comfort mode and the Start/Stop function is activated. These settings mean that the car feels comfortable, the steering is light, the shock absorption is soft and body's movement is smooth.

This drive mode is the certification mode for carbon dioxide emissions.

When I had my S90 test drive, I did rather like comfort mode

until I got to the end of my street and stuck it into SPORT

haha

I'll try this tomorrow but reading in the Volvo app it suggests this is possible in the settings if you have selected an individual drive mode then so long as the box is checked (preset tab) and saved to your profile it will start in that mode - make sure the box labelled "preset" is selected to either eco or dynamic...
