Default Clutch kit - 2 different part numbers for T5?

Hi
There are 2 different part numbers for 2piece clutch kit, sold by Volvo for T5 models:
30783253 and 31367641, and Vida also provides separation by vin number (ENG -4248477)for the latter. I have seen both kits available as aftermarket models, but LuK for example have 2 different part numbers for both kits where Valeo seem to have the same p/n for both (atleast it list it as compatible on ebay, not sure its right).
Question is: are both interchangeable? What is the difference? is the vin cutoff ultimately mean pre FL and FL model? Or is one superceeding another and both will fit any T5 from 2004.5 to 2012?

any feedback appreciated, did some research but without any definite conclusion.

Your best bet is just to ring Volvo and get all the part numbers needed there. ViDA will have them matched for your reg number so you know it'll be correct.

If they match up to the clutch kit for sale in the sales section then buy that one, it's a good price for gen Volvo stuff.

Would have it myself but going the S60R route with mine.

I have Vida aswell and it does give me EARLIER part number only as correct one. I am just wondering is it because
a) both are NOT interchangeable
b) earler part was originally on it but latter part is ultimately a "upgraded" version of earlier one and will still fit anyway even if not listed?

and yes, my whole research started because of this ad but only FW and CSC p/n checks out, hence my whole research.

Still might be worth checking with Volvo themselves, sometimes they update the P/N in ViDA in the latest versions.

The very latest ViDA which none of us have our hands on, is very different, a few times I've spoken to my family member at Volvo and got a different P/N for what I can see on my ViDA, to be the same item. Just it's upgraded/changed slightly and has a new P/N as a result.

All these online databases of after market parts can be a nightmare, one site says it'll fit, another says not compatible etc....That's why I only use Volvo for P/N's.

As long as you don't expect FRF (the Club/Forum's preferred dealer) to give you part numbers. They've recently decided to become quite unhelpful and tell you "we don't give out part numbers".

Yep, I know what you both mean. My dealership also is unhelpful with part numbers, and Im also pretty sure if I ask them "will it fit" they will tell me Vida list a diffrerent pn for my car (as it does).
I may try to sneak it out somehow but doubt the actual dealership will confirm anything.
Was hoping someone here had actual physical experience with it and would confirm or deny compatibility... :/ damn.

BTW - anyone knows what VIN the FL model started from?

If you're looking a new clutch, the Focus RS MK2 is probably about the same price as the original or not far off if you look hard enough.

More clamp for your coinage!

Yep, I know its worthy upgrade but there is a very nice deal for OEM full set from one of the members listed in sale section, for that price I would probably go for standard OEM, hence the whole detective work

Ahh yes there is! Well as the flywheel is in that deal it's worth getting that and swapping out the original for the price I guess.

You are very unlikely to get Part Numbers from main dealers, this is to prevent you from going off to motor factors and the like who can match up the numbers with other equivalent OE aftermarket parts.

Clutch wise I'd maybe speak to some specialist performance FORD places as they are likely to know exactly your engine etc.

The only 'change' I'm aware of was when the T5 got upgraded to 230bhp around the Facelift due to the extra emissions controls in the exhaust I think.

Whether an extra 10bhp warranted a different clutch I don't know.
