I didn't use an ultrasonic thingamabob( I'll put one down for my wish list though) to clean mine...

Just follow Bob's link above to his excellent guide. All you will need is that, a diaphragm and a tin of carburettor cleaner to fix this problem.

Once you have done it would save a lot of time to have the local MoT garage test the CO output (not a full MoT test, just a contribution to the tea bag fund in exchange for 5 minutes on the gas analyser). That will enable you to get the mixture screw (I think called the CO adjuster in the Green Book) at the bottom of the carburettor right. If you remove the adjuster for cleaning count the number of turns out and put it back in the same place - it won't be far off.

Never noticed before, but the reflective tape on the rear should be on the front.
