Is it over-priced? Who knows. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
People would pay more than that for a 10 yr old S4/RS4 with 100k on the clock (although dare I say it, I think the RS4 has more 'cachet'). Would I spend that kind of money on what is in effect still just a 10 yr old V70....no, but then I don't know enough about what makes a V70R so "special" in the first place. |

Spotted this one on ebay - truly lovely - but when I found the top Franchised dealer valuation guide price for 20,000 miles is £6,600 I rapidly lost interest... Now at £6,600 I could make a case for it and I would buy it... if you change your price let me know!!
Can't blame them for trying though - if you want more for a car and have the patience to wait someone might just come along and give you most of what you want - theres a bloke in Derby who sells classics and sometimes waits a year to sell his cars for top dollar. |

The main idea of constructive posts on threads such as these where a trader is legitimately advertising a car at a price that anyone with extended and thorough knowledge and expertise in the 'REAL WORLD' value of this V70R.......is........
to ensure that members of this forum new, junior or senior.....are aware that pricing may be a tad unrealistic! By all means, if one of our esteemed members feels the urge to pass almost £10k on for it.....carry on! But, don't say we didn't warn you! V70R......RS4????? Come ON!!!! Different league and no comparison, plus a decent 2000/2001 RS4 is and should be £12-14k! Jon |

Johnnyv - You're not wrong, the RS4 is as common as s**t and it has a very bland interior.
The value of the OP's car is what a buyer is willing to pay. Hard to compare as its probably unique to have such a low mileage on an 04 plate. If you look at mileage alone the price isn't out of this world for something presumably sold with a decent dealer warranty. Low mileage V70Rs with a decent provenace are pretty rare things. I guess what counts against this one is its prefacelift, so has the old 4c system and geartronic box, plus its done its milesstop start pootling to the shops rather than steady motor way stuff. |

Butttttt.......tomo....
You only have to drive the RS4....and that's where the no comparison comes in. Fast drive in crap weather and a **** road and its RS4 everytime. If you include serious bends, the 70R is a good way behind and struggling! As we have said, if someone's willing to pay...despite what is said here, no worries. Your trade in will be rubbish...while the RS4 's will be worth selling privately close to your buyer figure. Number of traders on PH and AT chasing RS4's. Not happening for our V70R. Shame, as it's a nice car. It's perceived rarity may help. You see a similar number of S60R's and they are rock bottom priced. |

V70 wins hands down for luggage space though!!
Yeah I was been a bit flippant - sure an RS4 or RS6 is a good bit quicker A to B, but you get a lot more for your money (i.e. newer or lower mileage) with a V70R and its a bit different, which is why I bought one over an RS6 (an RS4 isn't big enough with 3 kids) that and the number of times my mates far newer RS6 was back and forth to the garage. Am I also allowed to say the Volvo has much comfier seats or does that make me an old man? We've drifted well off topic....... |

HA HA. You say what you like, mate.Sure has the room and the comfy seats, no doubt about that. RS4 is a weekend/plaything and as that, it's great. RS6 have known issues...DRC?? Volvo should be hyper reliable and reasonable costs/maintenance, so it's always horses for courses!lol!
Anyway, my old 70(not an R) is going strong at 15 years old and baby miles at 100k, and is one of the most comfortable, roomy cars I've been in...ever! |
