Default Wheel Bearing

Hi everyone,

The old girl has started to make a knocking sound when turning right (roundabouts are the best way to hear it) and seems to be coming from the back right. Was thinking could it be the bearings on that wheel? Anyone know what sort of price I'll be looking at before I go in to my local garage?

She's an S40 04 the last of the Classics

thanks & regards
Martin..

Doubt its a wheel bearing if its Knocking. They normally whine or rumble.
A knocking is normally a worn bush or joint.

Make sure you don't have any loose wheel nuts!

Raise the car and try to shake the wheels.
Does not have to be the wheel bearing.
I had similar thing.
Knocking started first when turning, after some time it was always present.
Car went 5 times to the shop, they had no clue, at the end said to change the gearbox (Luckily I didni't listen to them).
Turned out in the end it was a bearing on the driveshaft
