Default Front Anti Roll Bar Bushes - easy job??

I've had a funny knocking noise on my V50, getting progressively worse over the last few weeks. I've just found the culprit, waggling the antiroll bar makes the knocking noise I was looking for, not from the end linkage, but from over the subframe, so I can only assume that it's a bush where the bracket holds the arb to the chassis.

Is this a tricky job to change?

Two bush fitting questions in a week!

Something must be going on.

I've asked the same-ish question. Look forward to the reply.

From what I have heard in my responses so far is.....

quite hard to do as you need the proper equipment and they can be hard to get out to replace.

I forgot I had a Haynes for the v50!!

I looked it up, and it does seem a hassle! wheels off, hubs undone, lower wishbones pulled out so the hubs can move away, links off, arb out etc.

Looking at it I'm sure you could reach through and get to them, but looks very frustrating!

I've decided to give it to a local garage!! I've always been really into doing maintenance on the v50 myself, but I've had my fill of frustration, scuffed knuckles etc and I'm too busy at work, it's nice to just collect it fixed and pay up!

By the way, I was quoted for the bushes: £31.10 (inc vat) each from my local dealership (x2 = £62.21) and from FRF £16.73 (x2 = £33.46). Practically half price! (+£6 shipping) Good old frf!!

Thanks for doing the leg work! I think that is a bit too much for me to venture doing myself.

Are you getting OEM bushes? I've heard that Powerflex do a very good replacement, slightly more expensive but are meant to last longer and a nice ride to boot.

Also, if you could let me know how much your garage is charging you, give me some idea of what I need to save up! Thanks!

I realy wanted to get powerflex bushes... Thinking perhaps I should have... Oh well! more expense right now I don't need. Just getting standard bushes on after driving with this huge knocking noise will be bliss!
