XC60 Mk1 Brake Disc size??
Afternoon all,
Looking for some decent after market discs and pads for my XC60 Eurocarparts says 328mm for the front and 302mm for the rear can anyone confirm that size is correct? Any recommendations for the discs and pads? 2010 XC60 2.4 D5 Drive FWD! Thanks

I went through this for my v60 and had to give in and measure them as could not get a definitive answer. Went with Brembo discs and pads, great value from amazon believe it or not and provide a better stopping experience than my well worn stocks which had also warped.
To measure is quite easy if you remove wheel, I slipped a bit of fairly stiff washing line up past the pads in the centre of the caliper and wrapped it round the disc circumference, mark with pen and pull out and measure length. Rears were a pain until I gave in and bought a rewind tool kit for £20, this along with using the 12v battery rewind for the electronic brake made it a simple job. |

Not done my rears, but I thought you simply unbolted and removed the caliper motor assemblies using a large Torx bit to free off the handbrake?

Thats exactly where I was, and measuring was the only way to be sure.
For the rears you have to wind the electronic parking brake back in or you won't be able to get the new pads on. There is quite a few posts on how and volvo supply instructions in stock pads to unbolt the EPB motor and use a torx to wind it back, some enterprising folks came up with a way to do it without unbolting the motor(and thereby needing a new seal and possibly damaging it) by connecting a 12 or 9v battery to the terminals and winding it back that way(I did this with a spare house alarm battery I had in garage). Once wound back you need to push the piston back as usual, but this is where I needed the tool, without it wasn't happening for me, with it took seconds. Hope that helps Here is a link to another thread that helped me out https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...+brake+caliper |
