Hello Donald

Thanks for your reply. It's a shame that you didn't start from the bottom up for your list of potential offers........oh well. Personally I would have stuck this on eBay and although it would still attract the idiots, you may have had some genuine interest.
Good luck with your new motor whatever that maybe be, and hopefully whoever buys your V70R will have the time and money to put it right. Too many of these cars are being broken for parts.

Donald , what a shame and very sad to hear particularly from presumably enthusiasts! Rather makes a mockery of having a 30 post rule which I must say is pretty pointless as demonstrated.
Maybe who ever looks after this forum (if there is such a person) should look at this?

Stumbled across this V70R whilst browsing autotrader earlier.

I know this is an S40, but picture 2 shows the V70R lurking on the background.

No pictures of the car up, but looks like this is it unless they have two of them....

Based on what the OP was looking for it, it looks like a huge mark up even with repairs. Who knows what it went for at auction though...

Well spotted mister eagle eyes 😂😂
I contacted Taggerts where the car was part exchanged, the day after they had done the deal with Donald, and basically got the run around from 2 sales people. Bunch of complete t&@ts..........
Followed this car online through BCA at Edinburgh auctions but could not bid since I was not registered as a trader.

Would be interested to see what they had done to the car since Donald declared the known faults

Well at the risk of appearing a fool I traveled up by train to the auction! The guide price had been set Cln £2,200 Avg £850 Blw £600 and Retail £2,395 Waited around through all the other dirge to the end, well 20 lots prior but who's counting. Bidding started at £2,750 (proxy), phone bidder and at least three others interested it quickly went up to around £4k where I bailed out as without a trade card there commission adds another £500 or so on top. By this stage i had missed the train back and last flight so bought a Fiat 500 four lots later and drove back 478 miles and around seven hours or so.
mrc150 I to contacted Taggerts receiving the same poor runaround too high and mighty.
Quickley brings me back to the rather strange 30 post rule, had this not been in place Donald would not have missed out! Perhaps time to change this for replies to classifieds?

Sorry to hear you had a wasted journey but look on the bright side......a Fiat 500 👍
Did you notice if the car had a mechanical report stuck to the windscreen......maybe not with it being 15 years old.
Taggarts bunch of tossers. I would take my business elsewhere knowing what I know now.
I think the 30 post rule is to stop would be fly by nights just posting their cars, possibly assuming that they only joined to sell their car. I don't have a problem with that. What's wrong with targeting your item to a specific audience. People tend to buy a car off a fellow forum member since you normally trace through the threads to see what issues the car may have, or may not. Buying elsewhere you take your chance, but not necessarily a bad thing.
Has your search for a V70R now ended or are you like me, as soon as one comes along then you may pounce.
I suppose now you will be a newbie on the Fiat500 forums........🤣🤣

Haha sold the Fiat last weekend and covered the costs, even at the lower end of things BCA's commission, transfer fee etc soon adds.
No mechanical report attached nor issues mentioned by the auctioneer.
Would be interesting as you say to see if the current trader has attended to the issues although now split milk!
Nothing as yet although hopefully we wont pounce on the same car!
