Rear Caliper - T5R differences

So..... replacing a seized rear caliper, and find that the 850R and 850T5R have a different part number to the 850T5.

850T5 is exchange at about £150.

850T5R is brand new at about £200ish.

Does anyone know if there is actually a difference (they take the same pads) in the calipers or if it's just that Volvo think that T5Rs and 850Rs should have new bits (I tend to agree).

Either way I'm putting the new caliper on since stopping is very important - I'm just interested to know the history on this.

Hello

I had the same problem when trying to find some rear callipers for my T5R (i.e. some people said T5 fit on an R and some said they didn't)

The ONLY difference is that Volvo paint the T5R callipers black (and then charge you extra for them)so they are the same except in colour

the cheapest place I found the callipers were at www.brakeparts.co.uk

I just replaced both rears on my T5 with exchange parts from GSF... about £55 + vat a pop if I remember correctly?
