Default Interior Lights

Thanks to Mike (thank you Mike, they arrived today!), I now have new door pins. I realise that what I mistakenly took to be blank covers are in fact the actuator, depressing the switch which presumably breaks the circuit. On mine, the rubber had perished away so wouldn't have been actuating.

That said, presumably with the light settings set to 'door' surely the lights should have been on all the time as the circuit wasn't being broken? So the system must have been disabled somehow. Does anyone happen to know if there's an individual fuse for the system, or where the likeliest place for someone to have disconnected something might be? I've not got the car or manuals with me to have a fiddle - he's tucked up in a garage the other side of the village. Maybe the light switch unit itself?

Cheers Guys!

Update - had a bit of a result! The new switches are now working on three of the four doors. Naturally the law of sod dictates that the one that isn't working is the driver's! The wiring is just completely dead, and I'm b***ered if I'm going to start stripping panels to find the break. I'll settle for that!
