Assuming the car has a little over 100k you should not touch the water pump at this point - only replace it at 200k miles
As for the belt, buy a Continental (Contitech) kit online, Ebay is a good start. Maybe even more important is to carefully inspect and replace as needed all pulleys that spin on the serpentine belt - it is the most common cause of D5 failure, plenty of owners lost their engine/cars because of this (worth searching a bit on the subject)

yes Ebay, there are some Volvo dealers that sell the kits at a very good trade/clearance price, Ebay is only a place to buy and sell, they do not make car parts, as some seem to think,
I look on ebay before going to Volvo, Dave |

For the belt kits Contitech,Gates and INA are very good brands ime.For the water pump I believe the majority recommendation on here is to go genuine Volvo.

Reference the water pump, coolant is a 3 year interval. The’water pump lasts forever’ is another one of those wives tales this forum is full off (like EVERY auto box uses 3309 fluid which it doesn’t). If you do a cambelt change every 80 to 100k then the second change will be at 160 to 200k, you would be mad to do a cambelt and ancillaries and not do the water pump for the chump change they cost. |
