Default P1800 Wheelarch Stone Guards

Hope the following isn't too trivial.

Have bought the rubber stone Guards that fit to the front end of the rear wheelarches. However am concerned that water can enter the leading edge and cause rot. I guess I would Waxoyl the interior of the guard and maybe try to seal the leading edge to the body with silicone sealant.

Opinions gratefully accepted!

Do not seal any body panel with "Silicone" sealant, these sealants use acetic acid as a solvent and can cause corrosion of your metal work. I would use a generic rubber seal or make one from rubber car mats. The idea is that you want to be able to remove them at least yearly for inspection, clean-out and waxoil retouch-up.

We'll, just goes to show how educational this forum is.

Under advice from Brookhouse, I stuck my Volvo badge to the front apron of the car with "silicon" (lol) sealant.

I also came to the conclusion that I would need to clean/check behind the stone guard annually, which makes me wonder it's worth putting them on in the first place. I think they look good, but wonder if they acty might cause more problems than they solve.
