Just picked up this thread, now I want HIDs on my V50 too! Great pics BTW, very useful. So, where did you get your Heico grille, I love it!

I think you should have a look at this.

Not from a Volvo forum but Audi, they are dealing with the same problem.

Another question is do they have to be earthed? I want to store my ballasts in the back on the unit itself is this possible?

Thanks guys and gals
Hi,

I have a C30 R-design and looking to install 55w 5500K HID's, as below;

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00S0SCUK...A1DB6FKVH4NRGM

Any advice would be much appreciated, after much research a little worried about the dibble pulling me over,

Thanks

Only advise I can give is to run a separate earth direct from the ballast to the strut top as a precaution.

I just fitted HIDs to my C30 today and relocated the Earth on the RHS HID. Just wanted to say thanks to all those who contributed to this thread as it helped me out loads!

Cheers,
Dru

I fitted the same ones to my S40 and it definately wasnt happy with them. after about 30 seconds they flickered really quickly (like a strobe light) then went out and wouldnt come back on.

Has anyone had this issue and did they manage to overcome it?
