Default Reading lights

Hi all

I want to change the front reading light bulbs to led's but i am unsure how to open the light unit? I have a manual but it doesn't seem that clear and i don't want to damage it!

Thanks for any advice.

If my memory serves me correctly the whole piece needs to come off from the lining.

it is one piece so you need to remove it all from the lining.

Yes you need to give it a good hard pull downwards with your hands either side. If you want some bulb holders, I have a load spare. PM me your address and I will post you some out FOC. Hadrian

I just used my fingertips and pulled down sharply. No worries about the holders I will post them in the new year.
If you haven't yet bought the LED's yet I have found these to be the best, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220748967189very bright and short in length plus you don't get that "fried egg look" when they are off. (White background and a yellow centre) I will add I also removed the internal reflectors as the led's are directional. HTH Hadrian

I have those for the rear compartment lights as they are the wedge type but i thought the front reading lights were the festoon type?

I had read that also but mine in a 06 plater are the twist lock type with the pre moulded bulb in the holder, hence the need for a holder. Give it a good tug and have a quick look!!! (Said the bishop to the actress.....)
