Default Front Drop Links C70 T5

Hi,

I have rounded a nut on one of my drop links, so need a new one, no idea what the size is.
But it got me thinking when looking. The whole unit isn't that expensive, what is their purpose, and is it worth replacing them? And are they upgradable? (So some better for performance in some way?)

Cheers,
Phil

they control body roll . dont know of any up graded ones they rattle when worn cheap and easy to replace . its not uncommon to have to cut the old ones off or: use a nut spitter just for speed of removeal

Yeh you can upgrade them. mine are looking a bit old now so I will be going that way as well.

I always run with the saying 'If you are going to change it, might as well upgrade it'

I cant remember which site I was looking at but if I find it again I will pop it back on.

Not thinking of Volvos in particular but drop links seem to fail quite regularly after a few miles but are not expensive to fix. Only comment I would offer is not to waste an hour trying to shift the nut - if it doesnt come easily after a soak in Plus Gas, use an angle grinder and grind off one side of each nut - much quicker.

Meyle HD drop links are regarded as better than OEM. When I was in the V40/S40 group on here they were always the recommended replacements.
