Angry possible fuel problem HELP

Hello
I am new to all this but I have owned 4 volvo 240s in my time.
At the moment I have a 2.3 injection Kreg. It starts but will not run if I pump the throttle it will not respond and then suddenly rev to 4000 and then start to die again if I pump the throllle aging it once again revs and dies. I am unable to keep it running at a steady level. This also happens if I try to drive it. It will accelerate and die and then accelerate again.
I have changed the lampba probe and codes on 2 and 6 are both 1 1 1.
Does anyone have any idea of what I should try next. I contacted a garage who said they would diagnose the fault but it will cost 1 hour at a rate of £55/hour.

Hi and welcome ..two things spring to mind about your problem...possibly shortage of fuel getting to where its needed?...which may account for surging/dying....or possibly drawing in air from somewhere?...has this problem just started out of the blue or after some maintenance?...you have come to the right place for help there are some real knowledgeable folk here!...good luck..regards hj.

Default fuel problem

Hi
Thank you for your reply. This seems to have happened quite suddenly. I was advised to try and take it for a run for 5+ miles or so and see if it may right itself. I did this and it ran very badly trying to die and then surge. It then poped and then cleared and ran not well but much better and reached over 60 mph. When I got home it ran quite well on tich over and I thought it had cleared. Wrong! this morning it started OK and ticked over but had little power to pull away and when driving it again started to surge and die.
Any further help would be wonderful.

Try disconnecting the throttle position switch and see if this helps.
