Default Traction control light and noise.

Hi folk.
Hoping for your help.
S60 2005 2.0 turbo.

Turning right above 44ish mph at anything more than leisurely cornering forces, the traction control light flashes and I get a whooshy noise from the passenger side.
If on on cruise control it also resets this.
It isnt the brakes as during normal braking it doesnt make this sound.
I have been doing gearbox oil change today and had it on jacks in gear attempting to cycle through the gears.
It made this noise continuously, traction light flashing and think the brakes were being applied.
Noise sounds like its above the steering rack on the left hand side.
Could this be the ABS pump?

Anybody with similar experiences or knowledge?

Could it be steering angle sensor?

Thanks in advance, Mike.

Verify axle bolts for being loose, then reluctor rings for cracks

It doesn't sound like they are so I would carefully check again, particularly the left side.
Also remove and check the abs sensors for signs of scoring.

An abs pump complaining in the given circumstances only is unlikely and would almost certainly produce a fault code.

You can see the kind of scoring I'm referring to in my video here and although it didn't create any symptoms, it was a definite sign that the ring diameters had increased due to corrosion and were catching on the sensor.

The clearance margins are extremely fine in that area including the alignment of the abs ring to the sensor at all speeds and cornering forces.

No need to overspend either as decent rings are a couple of quid from here.
