A new key from volvo is about £65 + £12 for the coding software and about 20 minutes labour .

The remote 65
software 12
labour depending on labour rate say 33

so that is £110 + 20% VAT = £132
The key Blade will be extra if you want it .

so best ask them what the extra cost is , unless they charge £200 an hour of course . OR it includes the metal key blade but £100 extra ??

Those are retail prices , every dealer should be using those . ask yours to break down their quote into parts and labour prices . It will be interesting to see where the extra comes from !

Will only work, if you have keyless entry...
....I have 2009 C30...The dealer tells me you must remove the Knob when you leave car because it drains battery....You need the remote control key present to start car...What is purpose of knob??

You have to turn the knob to start the car , just like you do with the remote .There is no mention in the owners manual about not leaving the dummy key in , if you have to remove it every time it kind of defeates the object of keyless drive .
