Default getting money back

Hi guys

Is there anyway i can get my money back for my car 58reg c30 r design 64k

Ive only had it since the 1st of Feb and im sick of it

Front wheel is still making a noise even though i have told them

air-con unit needs replacing apparently it has a massive hole in it

and to top it off started it this morning and its been a little hard to turn over (thought it might be the cold) but it sounds like the engine is seizing but then goes away after a minute or so

any ideas would be grateful

I guess it depends what sort of warranty came with it, so the best people to ask for assistance would be your Local Trading Standards Office and see what they say.

I am sure other people will say talk to this, do that, but talking to them first will get the ball rolling.

Can't remember where I read this but it was in the UK at least. Someone had the same problem, bought a car that ended up being a lemon. Garage wouldn't take it back fault after fault, so owner got it signed up with something about the garage. No names on the car as it was slander or something but along the lines of "Don't buy from here etc etc etc" then parked it outside the forecourt. End result was a gift wrapped refund. Sounds like urban myth but actions speak louder than words.

Was it from a main dealer?

Have you talked to them asking how they can work with you to resolve the matter?

It is an uphill struggle, although not impossible to pursue a rejection.

Following on from the above Honest John, take a look at this link in particular Clegg.

Hope you get sorted

Regards

Regardless of the warranty, you have a legal course of address via the Sale of Goods Act.

If the faults have been there since Day 1, then you could argue that the car is not of the "merchantable quality" that a reasonable person would expect at 3 years old and 64k miles.

But as suggested by others, talk to the seller first, remain polite but firm and make a note of all conversations, phone calls, previous visits etc.

Then approach CAB with all the facts and let them guide you. Good luck.

only sort of get out they have really is if they highlighted the problems before the sale to you and you continued with the purchase.
