If it was 12v you may have get a good response, yet another battery to make up the 24v knocks the payload down. You might get a good response from a boating section

The thing is a 24V inverter will supply a longer useable power outlet. Couple it too a Solar panel and you may never need to connect to the grid again

I spent an awful lot of time trying to ensure I have enough power, without the use of a genny...which to be frank are an annoyance if you are sited next to them.....
1. LED bulbs throughout 2. Solar panel 80w 3. Shorter hair for wife 4. Low voltage TV and DAB - but hardly ever used Genny is not a great option, I have a 1000w invertor but I never use it and find that a decent 12v battery is the best way...

ok my generator died at the weekend so now I need to sort something out lol
More and more people keep telling me to go solar [power but I dont want to fit anything to the roof as we might be changing the van next year. Any advice on solar panels would be great, I found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/caravan-bo...item589fc91a70 is it any good? does anybody use something like this? Why pay so much?
Solar panels are the better option as generators are generally used for emergency. One of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Biard-80W-...#ht_3230wt_960 and these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10A-20A-30...item51aba66051 This panel should be sufficient for most campers battery. Only you will know how roughly much battery usage you consume on a daily basis. These regulators state that they will regulate 100 watts, but i have been with campers who have 100w panels and the regulators shut down, that is why I suggest the 80. If you want more then you could get, for eg. a 40w and another regulator. Perhaps the heavy price is the cost of the regulator which can "actually" handle 100w. I use an 80 on a separate battery in the van for extras and a 40 on the van battery for standard equipment.
