My mates knocked so bad it sounded like somethi g was hanging off the car and smashing around. It was the nivo damper (the spring is the shock absorber) the damper dampens it down.
So what you have described sounds very similar to what I experienced as I was sat in the boot as he drove around the industrial estate so I could listen. As for the juddering does it skip too? This is another sign of worn dampers as my fabia skips around when hard cornering due to dead rear dampers. |

Sorry! I may have confused matters - the rear suspension issue is separate from the power steering leak.
The only linking factor is my amazement at Volvo spare part prices, and wondering where I can get cheap spares |

I agree other bits are stupid prices, xc70 front drop links, ( the bar that joins anti roll bar to suspension strut) volvo price £56 each, I baught Bilstien for £32 for the pair including vat from my motor factor. Apart from the engine and gearbox it's a Mondeo mk4 , every suspension bit I've looked at says FO MO CO on it as do the fuse boxes. Volvo try to make out its a premium brand and to convince the customer charge a premium price for everything. Paul. |
