I have a leaking intercooler on my v70 d5. Has anyone used or any recommendations to the aftermarket ones for sale £80 mark. Or do I source a good original used one. Cheers

Sorry...title should say Intercooler.

I sourced mine from e-bay supplier a few years back and no troubles with it.

I've used Nissens intercoolers and radiators from Amazon and they've been excellent quality.
Around £100 delivered.

2004 XC70 D5 awd. Auto

Sorry to ask but what are your symptoms. Oil behind the intercooler? The whistle....?
I asking because mine makes loud whistle on lows like going 1 to 2. I have no oil under the intercooler.

Many thanks

My symptoms are, that when giving it he gun it goes into a limp mode till you lift your foot off the gas and let it build up slowly. Plus its in the garage having other work done and they have confirmed its bowed and leaking. But going to tackle the job myself.

Usually a split intercooler on a diesel results in excessive smoke on acceleration.

hey guys just need some clarification on this intercooler problem before I take the plunge and buy a replacement. When I drive late at night in the cool air the car picks up a lot better and goes along nicely. But again this morning in the heat when you put your foot down it just holds back until you roll off the gas then it will pick up slowly. I need to sort it out as its spoiling the my driving experience. Thanks.
