iCarsoft v3

Has anybody purchased or used the latest V3 iCarsoft unit, how well does it work and interrogate the Volvo systems, just asking as I wanted to purchase a Vida Dice setup but Cheshired5 is ot on line and hasn't been since December, I believe he is having a break from the forum

Yes.

It has worked excellently on V70 and XC90 for me.

Yes the V 2.0 has many useful functions which you need . I guess the V 3.0 will be even better although the software gets updates about twice a year.

Not sure if cloned Dice works on cars after My2015. Does work on my V70 MY2015..

VIda and Dice as we know it ended on 2015 models And went On line accessed only by dealers , the New xc90 and similar range of cars from 2016 all used ethernet connections , and wireless from around 2020 . The few remaining old model cars from 2015 to 2017 ( V60 S60 V40 XC60 etc ) still used Dice only on the new volvo systems .

I need to do a PSM reset, would it be possible with the iCarsoft V3

There are certainly menus in V3.0 for the PSM, but ive never delved deeply enough into it to see if it can reset one. You can certainly clear any stored codes on one.

So what does this mean for home mechanics with cars from 2016 onwards? Is it going to make doing a lot of things at home impossible? Diagnosing/resetting etc

I've been looking at this plus the Foxwell NT530. I was looking for something that can do the gearbox adaptation and it seems like the Foxwell can do that.
