Irish Meet in July - Page 2

Hi all,

Fingal Vintage Car show is taking place on Sunday 30-July-06 in Lusk near Balbriggan co Meath. Myself ( driving Black S80 ) and Ivor ( driving 945 ) will be going up on the day so if your free why not pop along. PM myself or Ivor for contact details so that you can get in touch either on or before the day .

Ben/Psychobiker I understand that its a long way to come for a meet but we will be planning a midlands meet in August so if you want to hang on until then

Hi Psychobiker,

I know what you mean. A friend of mine had one for a while and he let me have a drive one day. Picture the scene 2 lads in suits in Volvo 850 young scanger in Suburu Imprezza at traffic lights.

He must have got of the funny side of the bed that morning ,as he started rev'ing his car and giving me the " I'am gonna wipe you" look. The light go green I drop the clutch hit the loud pedal and guess what he STALLED . I couldn't believe the acceleration myself.

Any way having reached the next set of lights the "young gun" pulled up once again beside us and rolled down the passenger window and asked " what the f%*k is under the hood" and I replied "Volvo power son , just Volvo power".

Anyways enjoy and keep it between the ditches

. I need droplinks and to repair my ABS ECU, but other than that, Ben O'Brien from here kept it in ASTONISHING condition. Some minor niggles like the horn and driver's door and air con...but the car itself is pristine. They're absolutely WILD in Sports mode, esp from 50+ onwards, they've been known to wheelspin away at 60

@Psychobiker.. glad your happy with it! dont have it looking too good at the meet i might just cry!.. only joking!

@Brendan and ivor, I am actually going up to dublin to Billy Joel on the 29th so i may be able to make it, really depends on the time as SWMBO wants to go shopping around the big smoke on sunday

i do not!!
Was going to take the BMW but i suppose this would give me an excuse to clean the V70 IUts like a tip.. just like the day you saw it Brendan!!
Oh yeah i got the red 245 going today, took it up the road for a blast, pity its not legal id take it on sunday, would be there in about 10 mins flat!!
Maybe the august meet..

Lol! I'm giving thoughts to dropping just the nose by 20 or 30mm, and definitely a Volvo strut brace. Do you have the other keys, Ben?

You could drop SWMBO to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in the morning, it is open 1000h to 1800h. Lusk is only 20 min from there on motorway (M50-M1) You will probably need V70 for trip home.

So that sound like both urself and myself will have our 245's ready for the August meet :-).

That sounds perfect Ivor ill chance my arm though im sure i would have to be recruited as a bag carrier!!

If we get going early im sure i can get a bit of shopping done and still make the show, ill just talk nicely tell her its a shopping centre or something!

@ Psychobiker, no im afraid i was only given the one key, id suggest sorting suspension before performance, you could drop the front that bit more but i wouldnt leave the back standard... lift off oversteer!!

@ Brendan, yeah that would be great if both the 245's are ready though with my welded diff and out and out drift spec i may arrive sideways!
