Default Anyone got a XC90 on 22" wheels with air suspension?

Hi, I've had a search for the above but can't find any specific feed back about the ride quality of a XC90 on 22" wheels with air suspension.

Close to pulling the trigger on a R Design Pro (D5) and whilst I know it must be compromised I'm looking for some real world opinions from owners with that combination of wheels / suspension.

I've got a 2015 Momentum on 20" wheels and conventional suspension at the moment and find the ride very brittle around town.

Any feedback gratefully received, cheers.

Not exactly, I have 21" and air suspension. I find it amazingly comfortable. Due to a technical problem with my car, I was given a loaner XC90 with 20" wheels and standard suspension for a trip to the Alps and back, there is absolutely no comparison - the air suspension is a major improvement to ride quality.

As above I have 21" on air, I find the ride and handling to be excellent. I have a bad back so for longer drives the seat and suspension make a big difference.

I don't find mine harsh at all.

it's not rolls royce smooth over bumps but it certainly doesn't shake you to bits as you might expect from 22" 35 profile rubber on such a big vehicle.

i'd go so far as to say it's better than my outgoing disco 4 on 20" wheels

I'm happy with mine. I'll be honest, I chose the 22" wheels on looks alone, and then specced the air suspension because I was expecting some noise and harshness, but it's been fine. Only the most vicious of London's speed bumps give me cause to wince, but I suppose that's what they're designed to do...

22s and air here too.

3000 miles in and loving it. Came from a Merc CLS on 19s and the ride in the Volvo is miles smoother.

Would buy this configuration again in an instant

Same here, I fine the ride great considering the low profile rubber. I also have a disco 4 on 20's and it is comparable for most of the time. Obviously its can't match the disco's waftyness but it is certainly not harsh.

Coming from a slightly different angle, I currently have a V6 VW Touareg on 20’’ wheels and air suspension.
I had almost overlooked the XC90 (despite having a great mk1 version 09-13) as
I liked the look of the 22’’ wheels but I felt it would not be comfortable, even with air suspension AND it would not be as powerful as the VW with a 2 litre engine (D5)
Was able to drive a brand new Inscription Pro with 22’’ wheels for 100 miles on A roads/dual carriageway and back roads and my concerns were unfounded - it was as comfortable than my VW and certainly fast enough for my needs and generally more refined than i expected.
Roll on March when my R-Design Pro ‘should’ arrive.

I have 22" with air R Design Pro.

Fabulous ride, very smooth, not too noisy - used to have a Range Rover and this handles so much better - very comfortable and I run from Leeds to London quite often

Thanks very much for all the feedback, I was expecting the worst to be honest but am pleasantly surprised. Will definitely go for the R Design Pro then. Cheers.
