Hi folks
New to the forum and got a 2013 D2 V60 R-Design (facelift model)
While I love the car I'm annoyed at how little the spec is on it and was wondering if anyone has added any of the following and how?

Parking sensors is it worth looking for Volvo ones fitted in bumper or just get aftermarket ones fitted?
Folding wing mirrors (can they be added)
Auto Rain sensor button (can this be added)
Would like Sat nav but heard its not the best anyway
Also looking for a18" ixion alloy
Thanks for any advice

Darren

The R-Design (non-Lux) is, yes, a little basic.
Sensors. Dealer fit.
Mirrors. Forget it.
Auto rain. Forget it.
Sat Nav. Go Garmin or TomTom.
Wheels. Look on the sales page.

You obviously don't venture to the highlands or remote parts of North yorkshire, where the sensus navigation is pants unless you are using only A roads and above.

Went to pick up and e-bay purchase last night near Wakefield. Sensus took me (via post code) to somewhere 1.8 miles away. Re-entered the address via town/street and got there? Wierd.

Weird yes. Mine doesn't give me my home house number off the postcode (it thinks there is only numbers 18 - 32, I am number 8) but it will find my house number fine if I enter the street name!

That sounds right, postcode will point to approximate GPS location, address 'should' be accurate!

The more rural you are the more unlikely postcode will work, spent a while as a delivery driver covering rural areas bloody nightmare!

As for op, dealer or specialist with vida, will work as if fitted from the factory! Well the sensors anyway, afraid everything else is learning curve for buying the next car, never understood why volvo even fit non folding mirrors in this day and age???

They had to save money on the basic R-Design to pay for the cosmetic additions and keep the price level with the basic SE.

I suppose the real question is why would anyone who orders a new car not tick the folding mirrors box!

Indeed. We have had two broken mirrors in our family and the repairs were more than the cost of 'ticking the box'.
