P2 Volvos - fuel filter change - Easiest job ever
My S60 2.0T is nearly at the 140,000 mile mark and I'm trying to get into a "Stage 0" condition.
Today I replaced the fuel filter and it was literally the easiest and quickest piece of maintenance work I've ever done on any car, ever. Same procedure for whole P2 range (petrol, sorry not sure about diesels). I previously attempted it on a Honda Accord and everything was so rusty that I just left it. Same job on the P2 Volvos is absolute child's play in comparison. Infront of drivers side wheel, Unscrew a 10mm bolt, then squeeze the 2 quick release connectors, catch the spillage in a container, then put the new filter in. DONE. Everyone seems to overlook this bit of maintenance but just LOOK at the below video showing how dirty the fuel filter gets after 130,000 and 300,000 miles. Great video. Also, the engine feels much more responsive afterwards. P2 Volvo - how to change fuel filter

There's easier job.
See.. Clips on fuel filter can get stuck, and then you're up for a fight against them. But changing bottom (gearbox) mount.. I think I could equip my non mechanically skilled daughter (8yo) with a spanner and she'd get it done.. |
