Exclamation Washer fluid low warning but tank is full

I had a low washer fluid notification, so I filled it up to the brim, but the message for low washer fluid keeps popping up on the dashboard panel every time I start the car. There is no leak. I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me how to get rid of this message or if it requires changing the sensor - I can do myself, and where is the sensor location. Thanks

Before spending and stripping I would empty the tank the usual way through the stalk, then re-fill with tepid clean water a couple of times in case additive has covered the sensor, leave the tepid water in for ten minutes then empty the lot again, ht cures it.

How do I empty the washer fluid tank? Is there a drain valve I can open because it's 5 litres of fluid. Thanks

Just use the washers in bursts till it's empty, I'm not aware of a drain valve and the tank is usually buried in the wing so not something you want to have to pull apart if you can avoid it, another method from bygone days is to drop a denture cleaner tablet in there and let time do it's thing overnight.

I think it is suggested to just drain the tank using the usual method of applying fluid to the windscreen via the stalk control, it may take a bit of time but maybe the only way to do it without removing the whole tank.

I will advise you to do emptying during the night as headlights washers will help you with empty those 5 litres

The tank is behind the front near side wheel arch cover at bottom of the bulk head, you can just remove the screws and one bolt at the rear part of the wheel arch cover and pull it out of the away to see the tank and pump, the pump is just a push fit and can be prised out to drain the tank but it is a bit of a tight fit and a bit difficult to push back in but manageable, I had mine out a few weeks ago, there is a pump is on the side facing you, the sensor is on the inner side of the tank, warm water flush might be all that is required. The tank might drain by just pulling the pipe off the pump and not removing it, I did not try that as I removed my pump to test it.

Screw off the filter which is probably dirty and not allowing you to fill the tank.

I have posted about this before

I didn't realise you could unscrew the filter. I find it an annoyance as it sits right at the top of the filler neck so make using a funnel difficult, and with the filler on the S90 in a really hard to get to position, I find a funnel a must to stop washer fluid going everywhere. I will be taking that off mine next time I top up.
