Default are mintex ok?

just had a quote of around £180 to supply and fit new disks and pads to my V70 bi-fuel.

however on parts for volvo online i can get mintex stuff for around £100 and have a bash at fitting them myself.

i know its not a difficult job, however are mintex up to volvo standards?

Mintex stuff should be fine, they're a well respected brand. No idea about the PFS own-brand stuff. You could also get prices for the genuine Volvo parts from Nordic or drop "Rufe" a PM - you might be surprised at the prices you can get on genuine parts.

Cheers,
John

I fitted mintex pads and nordic discs on mine. The pads were fine on the old (presumably volvo discs) but they now squeal quite a bit.

Have just done my Volvo S80 using the combined Mintex pad and disc kit from PFS. Total bill inc VAT and carriage was £98.50. Whole job took about 45 mins per side. Discs were made in Sweden and everything is brill.
