Default V70 D5 04 advice needed please :( :(

I went out tonight & got an unwelcome surprise; during some hard acceleration the power suddenly vanished accompanied by a peculiar loud growling noise (it's done this before but very intermittantly), I immediately backed of the power, but something detrimental has happened, there is now a very loud air wooshing noise from behind the bulkhead that sounds a bit like dump valve, the power is down a tad but not terribly so.
I've had a look with a torch, all I can see at he moment is a grimy turbo inlet pipe ~ when I squeeze the pipe (it's a pig to reach) it seems very soft, almost gooey, is it meant to be like this ?

No fault codes

Thanks

Dave

There's a big split in it (on the underside of course)

Split hose/vacuum tube?

If so, you might get air noises, lack of air to turbo etc - and it'd be relatively cheap to fix!

Last time I heard a whoosh from an engine it was swiftly followed by the sounds of the pistons snapping.....
