Mines A silver V50 with tints fitted by the garage i bought the car from 80% I believe the tint is so about what you would get from most car manufacturers as a factory fit.

remember- once tinted it must allow 70% of light through the driver and passenger windows.

Police have a tintman device which measures the light, if it lets 40-69% of light through its a £30 fine and you have to peel off then tints off there and then to carry on your journey, if it lets less that 39% of light through its classed as vehicle in dangerous condition, 3 points, £60 fine and the risk of your car being siezed if you refuse to peel then off.

worth knowing- if you are ever involved in a car crash which results in your insurance company examining your car, if your tints let in less than 70% of light, they wont pay up.

and another con garages do is to tell you that the tints sheet is legal (probably is) but when then put on your car window, which is already tinted to about 65% (as all car windows are tinted to a degree) tint + more tint = illegal tinted windows.

from my experience tinting is a waste of time and dangerous.

yeah forgot to put that in , your can paint the rear windows and back windscreen black if you wish! the law only applies to the front driver and passenger window and windscreen ( which i think is 75% limit)

You should also tell your insurance co about the "modification". Some will charge extra.....
