Horn alarm
All,
Have 88 240 glt whose horn goes off if you don’t get the key in the ignition within 10 secs. Also goes off if the door isn’t shut properly. Any advice on how to turn it off. Thanks. |

It seems that you've got an aftermarket alarm fitted (badly).
Pull the fuse for the interior light, then try re-arming the alarm system. If the horn doesn't go off you've found the circuit it's been piggy-backed to and will then have to methodically trace the alarm wiring. If there's a horn under the bonnet - not between the grille and the radiator - that's for the alarm system so you should be able to follow the wiring, unless the fitter taped it into the factory loom. Good luck. Oh, and put on a pair of ear defenders!

Loki,
Thanks. Hopefully it is a separate horn. Will have a look. |
