Are you talking about a workshop manual or owner's manual? The owner's manual is just the hand book. Haynes don't cover it (yet anyway)

Oh dear! I fear you are commenting on the wrong thread. Vida/Dice is for a previous generation of V90s. Which is why I specifically said SPA.

I think a ‘Senior Moment’ happened, when stating that they got the Workshop Manual from their dealer.
We all make mistakes, that is life.
But a simple ‘Sorry, my mistake’, would have gone down well.

I have made a similar mistake, commenting on a post whilst reading through unread posts since last login, but the clue is in the title of the forum this thread was posted in, surely?

"Forum for all vehicles post 2014 based on Volvos new Scalable Platform Architecture or SPA"

I now make a habit of checking, before contemplating putting fingers to keyboard

The manuals for newer models are online only, (post 2015 I think), so unless someone can download them and make them available to all, (which is what should happen Volvo), then you are stuffed !!!

Volvo and other car manufacturers are only following EU legislation, which requires repair information to be restricted to recognised automotive repair businesses and associated industries and allows them to charge for access.

Currently, the only answer seems to be to move to the US where their "right to repair" legislation means that Volvo do also allow vehicle owners to register and purchase information from their technical portal.

More silly EU rules, glad we are out now, but that's another issue. This is why a lot of information online tends to be from the US.
The information should be available to all, as owners will still do their own repairs with or without the correct information.
It's got to be better to at least have some basic servicing information available which is sadly lacking from Volvo. I don't think I will be buying another Volvo as I've not been very impressed, it's difficult to just find basic recommended service intervals and specifications of fluids etc.....not good.

The EU legislation seems to only state that the repair information has to be made available to independent repairers online, it does not appear to restrict access to these only. It also states that they have to provide access on a daily (monthly, yearly) basis and charge appropriate fees for whichever period is used which is interesting.
