Default C30 usb/phone

Hi there,
I have a 2009 C30 SE Lux which has the aditional USB connection inside the centre console armrest.
When I first bought the car the phone bluetooth function was working (green led lit within the phone button) when this button is pressed the infotainment displayed searching...... after a couple of weeks ownership I decided to drop my music onto a USB stick and plug it into the cars USB socket, this worked great and now I can play all my music through the cars stereo system however I then found that the green led on the phone button has gone out and has no functionality. This puzzled me for a few days then I realized the phone answer and hang up buttons on the steering wheel when pressed displays a list of the tracks on the usb stick so I am assuming that plugging in a USB stick disables the phone bluetooth.
I have removed the USB stick but the phone button green led is still not working so no ability to pair my phone......any help on this would be greatly appreciated
