Default V50 remote keys not working and 'Key not found'

I went out to my car today (2010 V50 R Design SE) to find that I'd left the sidelights on and the battery was flat as a pancake; perfect. I jumped it with a power pack and the alarm started going off, tried starting a few times before realising that the key needed to be in the ignition (instead of the keyless knob thingy). It then started and I drove it for an hour, after which it started again fine.

However, I soon found that the car would not respond to the key fob (nothing - lock, unlock, lights, panic button). I tried the spare key as well which isn't recognised either. Both worked fine before the flat battery and the key batteries have been replaced recently. Furthermore, if I turn the ignition using the keyless knob, a 'Key not found' message flashes up.

So, the only way I can now lock and unlock the car is to use rocker switch from the inside, then using the key blade in the driver's door. The alarm isn't armed either.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If anyone’s interested, I solved it this morning by turning it off and on again... disconnected the battery, had a cup of tea and all is well in the world of V50 😬 I like to think it was the tea that helped
