Anyone had a re-map from this lot?

Thinking of getting my '55 S40 2.0D Sport re-mapped, found this lot for £200,

Anyone used them? Also other than the extra power anyone got any real life stories of improved mpg, I'm getting 41 at best at the moment...

Hi Nick, I've been trying to get a remap & went to a place in Ipswich. A few of my friends had taken their cars there & recommended them. However...they couldn't do my '06 S40 2.0ltr D because it's got a Peugeot engine & they have to tune (or faff about with!) 3 ECUs. They generally e-mail the map to someone in Thetford & he e-mails them back the remap. However they said they'd have to take mine to Thetford to have it done. I said I'd deal with the bloke direct & rang him. He said he could do it but he'd need the car for about 8 hours!!! I still haven't got around to doing it but his name is Dave & his number is 01842 752233. As I said, a few of my mates have had their cars done & are more than happy. I see you are in Northamptonshire & thought this might be of interest. BTW I think they quoted £275 for the remap.

Depends what ECU you've got and what software the agent is supplied with. The agent will have a slave hard drive which the guy in Thetford provides him with and that determines what cars he can & can't do via the OBD port.

Are they remapping with generic files or custom tuned files per vehicle?

We do remapping (we're based in South-East London) and all our remaps are custom tuned to each individual vehicle. We can do almost any car now via the OBD port with our master equipment and if required, we can do bench remaps & chiptuning on some of the more sophisticated ECU's including the new 2007+ BMW EDC17 (Tricore Systems).

Not heard of RemapScience so I can't comment but we charge £199 on our remaps as standard.. but if you guys are in the market for remaps then we could do group deals for like £150 (2-3 at a time minimum)
