Default Help from V50 / s40 Owners

I have a V50 courtesy car tomorrow and have said i will help a friend out by
jump starting her car.

My question is how do I access the 2nd half of the battery There seems to be this big metal bar in the way and ofcourse i will need to attach leads to both parts of the V50's battery.

Any assistance would be much appreciated

Thanks

Lift the front of the black cover upwards and then pull the whole black plastic battery cover out to the front and slightly upwards. Refit when done.

Hope that helps.

You shouldn't connect both to the battery.

You have access to the positive terminal through the hole in the battery cover.

Connect the negative lead to the common earth point on the nearside front suspension strut (the bit where all the black wires are bolted to).
