I know we all have a favourite polish and a pro detail would be nice but meguires 3 step is a good bit of kit. Also clay first.
I am no expert but there are a few on here who are very good!
I do like a red 40.

They are unpredictable and always surprise you when least expected.

They cost a fortune to maintain and always leave you short of cash.

They respond to love, care and attention.

The bodywork looks better after cosmetic treatment.

They respond to a masterful hand steering them in the right direction.

They provide pain and pleasure in equal measures. (Although this can cost extra)

It is good to get inside them and enjoy the ride.
I could not put it any better and your account is my my view a an accurate reflection of the reality.

My S40 is called Genevieve for all the above reasons... and some more...

All my cars have been male. I dont know why but it just seems right. My XC60 is called Freddi because its sort of Swedish. My last car, an Audi A8, was simply known as The Baron - big fat thirsty and German.
Other named cars have been:
Jeeves the Jag.
Hermon (the German) Porsche 944.
Rex the Mazda RX8.
Kato the Datsun 240Z
Harry the Hurtler a Triumph Dolomite 1850HL - this was ironic as it rarely started let alone hurtled.
I have known someone with a red Ford called Robert - probably quite a few of these and someone with a Morris Minor called 'Bugger'.

The Rescue Dog - V70 D5 S manual 163bhp Euro 3 model. Because just before I bought it, a friend went though an amazing process of taking in an actual Rescue Dog, who she nursed back to health after many owners neglect. When I saw this V70 I knew there was a decent machine struggling to escape years of abuse, and that I could have a fun few months revisiting all the car-related skills of my youth - and so it has proved.

Our V70 Tdi is Sven cos its Swedish & my son called my yellow sprinter Spongbob because it square & yellow . My last car was simply the mondeo & my V8 landy used to be called many things by cruel people , who later regretted their outbursts when it rocked up to drag them out of fields , winch them off their roof & back onto their tyres , Etc

I've never given any of my V40's a name, don't know why, they're just 'car', but the 240 we had definitely had a soul and needed a name. We called her Ebba - which is also a Swedish name and means 'strong'.

Only named a couple of past cars and bikes but not the Volvo's.
It's only been apparent since getting the T4, so they're known as 'The diesel' and 'The T4'
