The slip on tight turns is felt on left wheel when turning right so I didn't focus on the right wheel at all.
Today after a tiring work on all four wheels - brake cleaning and greasing I found this movement.
Glad I caught it. I saw a beautiful video of Cheshired5's
tie rod replacement. Will use that as a guide during summer.

don't wait till summer to fix . do it now that's a lot of play in something . you don't want anything to fail at at speed and cause more damage through loss of control

Fix that now, I had this happen on my Renault and I left it and it wiped out the balljoints and wheel bearings, on the other side, because all the steering effort was going through the opposite wheel and put too much strain on them.
When all was done I had to replace two lots of everything, which could have been saved by fixing one side early.

In my defence, I was doing 500 miles a week and didn't have a lot of time to fix it, until the wheel bearing sounded like a motorbike following me all the time... oops.

Yes. Tried to source genuine track rod ends both inner and outer on both sides. Doves Volvo croydon quoted £380 including VAT!!! Ouchhhhhh.....

Went for Lemforder option but can only source inner rod from Dr Car parts.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F371841992596
Euro car parts have no stock of Lemforder.
So iam on dilemmma to go with complete Meyle or inner Lemforder and outer HD Meyle?
Can we choose different company inner and outer rods like this.

Any thoughts please.

Ive ordered the removal tool from ebay.

You may not need both inner and outer track rod ends, find the one that gone, should be easy with that much play and just replace it for now, if the others are OK, then look at the rest come the warmer weather.

Default Woops!

Get it done as soon as poss, had a track rod end fall apart on a Standard Vanguard pick up,back in the early 60's. trundling along the main road, near Dagenham, heading into the east end, loads of H.G.V'S around. This will sound like a real "porky" but it is the truth, as the steering came apart,it turned sharp left into the forecourt of a.........A BREAKERS YARD!!! If it had turned right I don't think I would be here, with all the h.g.v's. they got out the cutting torch & chopped off the required part from a saloon. & I was on my way again shortly after. can't complain really, only paid £12.50 for the pickup!

regards,Keith.

There's a very good reason that not too many people are able to explain what happens when they have a catastrophic steering joint failure. That could either mean that it's very unlikely and never happens, but I would suggest there's a much darker reason for it.

If you can change a dodgy steering joint yesterday, do it then, but only if you can't do it the day before. Leaving it till tomorrow is not a good idea.
