Default Returned to the fold...

Hi everyone. Just become a Volvo owner again; previously had a 240 GLT - I wish still had!

But driving around in a characterless modern car, I kept reminiscing fondly of 'Olga'. A rash visit to 'the bay' means I am now owner of a '92 NA estate that needs some love. ..

Looking forward to getting my hands greasy again!

If anyone knows of any breakers with 940/960s M4/M40/A34 corridor, please let me know.

Despite quirks (sometimes have to flick wiper stalk to get indicators to work/or cancel!..) getting in my 940 is like returning home, just feels 'right'. Not owned an auto before, but spend so much time in traffic, thought I'd take a rest..........

Photos will be good then - in a few months time you can look back at how far it's come!

I know what you mean. In 2007 we bought a brand new Toyota corolla linea techno 1.4D4D. Don't get me wrong it was a great car and fault free except a few little niggles, like not being able to open the window a crack as rain would drip on the seats and window switches. Uncomfortable on journeys longer than 2 hours. Fault free in the 30 months of ownership. Huge depreciation when sold as didn't need a LHD!

The biggest thing, was it didn't put a smile on your face and lacked character. It was a tool to get you from A-B.

I replaced it with a 1989 240GLT auto estate 9 years ago and still have it. Also now own a 1996 940 SE LPT auto estate. Both Auto by pure chance. Wouldn't go back to manual for ease in traffic!
