Default Passenger Airbag On - Acknowledge

I have had 38K miles service carried out Today that included software updates. I now have a message that I cant get rid of - "Passenger Airbag on, Please Acknowledge" Any ideas how to get rid of it ? When I press the O button nothing happens. As a result of the message I cannot access other functions. Think I may have to return to the dealer

Maybe try switching the air bag on & off to see if that cures it.

The switch is on the passenger end of the dash - open the passenger door and you will see it.

You need to press the centre button on the right hand side of the steering wheel to cancel it .. Probably some new legislation regarding passenger air bag safety . In case you still have a baby seat in the passenger seat or something like that .

Default Passenger Airbag on, Please Acknowledge

Hi. Were you able to resolve the ‘Passenger Airbag on, Please Acknowledge’ warning? I have the same problem now. Tried the above suggestions.

Start the car, it will go through the startup procedure
After 6 seconds and when the start up procedure is complete the message will appear.
Press the O button on the right hand pad of the steering wheel. (the one that acknowledges phone calls etc.
The message will go away
The handbook gives more details but in essence the above is the process

I assume someone turned the airbag switch on or off

I have tried all that has been advised but I still can not clear the message, has anyone solved the problem yet? Even tried plugging in my little tool to try and clear the message but no luck.
