Default 320mm Brake upgrade just fitted.

Afternoon,

I've just finished fitting the 320mm upgrade to my V50.
All in I'm impressed, only done a quick 15mile bedding in drive but
The difference in brake feel is noticeable over the 300mm.

I fitted new larger brake guards, discs, calipers and Blueprint pads,
I've used blueprint (ADT) pads on jap cars as I believe it's OEM and iv always
Been pleased with the quality. Time will tell how they suit the Volvo though.

On a side note, 300mm set up now for sale. 😂

Very nice, looks good. Fills the wheel really well.

Thanks, yes. They do look snug under the wheels. I'm on the lookout for a set of 18" Midir for the next upgrade. But they seem quite tricky to get hold of. I.ve not seen many sets up for sale.

aw that's frustrating I sold my midirs for nothing, they are nice alloys but just to let you know, they are incredibly heavy. I swapped my midir's for some lighter 18's

I've noticed that about oem wheels some do seem quite on the heavy side, but to be fair I don't really want cheapish aftermarket ones incase they damage/buckle easily, especially being 18"
And I can't quite justify some of the prices BBS,s go for.

Can I ask where you obtained the 320mm-compatible brake guard and what it cost? My car came with one side missing for some reason and the inner disc face was much more worn than the outside face when I recently replaced both discs.

I had intended to replace the guard but ran out of time when I needed to change the discs for mot reasons - already had the disks/pads so just changed those.

I have since had a quick look for the guard and it seems as if this is only available from a Volvo dealer...

Hi,

Ford part number 1670666. It's the focus St disc shield. They can be had from EBay if you search using the part number. Roughly £20. I'm not sure how much it would be direct from your local dealer.
