Default brake caliper rebuild kit

Hello, have volvo 240 1989 estate with vented front brakes. On changing pads i noticed one of the dustboots round the piston had a tear in it. Would this need looking into immediately there seems to be no leaks?

I have found Front caliper rebuild kits are these difficult to fit? Not attemepted anything other than changing pads and disks before bit concerned it will be too much for me!

thanks any thoughts much appreciated

Dave

The dust boots are there to stop grit wrecking the piston seals, if that happens one of your brake circuits will be compromised.

The boots are not hard to replace, try Brookhouse.
