I see you have the wire boot tidy. Do you have it fitted/held in place by 2 short stays? They are about 20cm long with a ring at one end, probably for a screw into the rear bulk head. I have one of these and the stays were held onto the main item by a cable tie. I don't think that it has even been fitted. They are not very common and no one seems to know what these 2 stays do or how they retain the frame. It can be partly held in place by the 2 damper tops but isn't very secure like that.

Hi Derek, you mean the basket ? Its genuine - not repro - but it had suffered, so needed some attention too = Its held in place by a long metal piece, with a small "fork" in one end. The top of it goes into a hole in the parcel shelf. Jens Christian |

Yes my rod, just one, has a small fork at the other end from the eye. I'd like to see yours fitted. My idea was that the fork pressed down onto probably the lower bottom bar after overlapping the top bar, with a screw through the bulkhead. I think you can see the rod in the middle of the basket in the catalogue picture.

Yes Derek- thats the one
And you are correct in your assumption - apart from the screw. No screw - the top of the bar fits into a square hole under the parcel shelf. Nice to see a genuine basket. Jens Christian |

I don't have access to the boot on my 2 door at the moment so would appreciate it if you could post a pic of the hole in the parcel shelf, and one showing how the end of the rod fits, for future reference. Thanks.

Hi Derek, same here - I only have access from one side (car is in a corner) so wont fit my basket untill next summer, when I hopefully get her out again. The hole is factory made, so you cant miss it - the pin only fits one way. Jens Christian |
