cold start V40 1,9TD 1998
Hi all,
I would like to ask you about the funkction of the idle control valve for the D4192T engine in V40 1,9TD. I learned from the Vida, that there are 2 idle states: low and high idle. High idle should happend after cold start, when the outside temperature is below 14°C, or you switch on the A/C switch in the cockpit. Experience with my car are, the always after I start the engine (cold start), idle begins around 700 rev/min, and after 4-5 minutes come to the stable idling around 850 rev/min. Nothing special happend when it is around 0°C in the morning. When I press A/C switch, the idling is even lower then before. I checked the idle control valve (which is next to the EGR valve) and I realized, that the vacuum is coming to it, but not continue further to the Lucas pump to increase the idling. So I have 2 questions: 1. what are you experience with this car. when do you realized to have higher idle? 2. How to test the cables coming to this ICV? How to test the ICV itself? Thank you. The picture with the arrow for ICV below. |
