Did you released the cable and try to push it inside and out?

Hi All
same issue with mine, I am in the back of the car, the cable moves freely and the rod is not rusted, so I assume that there is an electrical issue?
when I lock the car I can hear all the other doors lock, but nothing from the rear lock , could it be a faulty solenoid??
should there an audible click/noise from the rear lock when the car is locked/unlocked?
will undoing the cable and pushing it in open her up?
cannot see how to open up from the inside otherwise
thanks
Andrew

I'm in the same position...
I take it no one knows as no replies since April?
Central locking unlocks doors... Can't hear anything from the tailgate mechanism?
I've manually manipulated the cable.. would this open under any circumstances or does it have to have power?
How would I check power?
Can I remove the lock unit with the tailgate closed?

The handle mechanism is prone to rusting solid. Take it apart and replace the hinge pin with one made of stainless steel.

Hi. Its not that,I thought it was.. even bought new rod and spring..
trim off ..moving handle link and cable from inside. does nothing.
I've had a multimeter in tonight.. power to the actuator but its doing nothing. So must be goosed. Problem is... its goosed while locked.
I have no way on manually unlocking the tailgate without basically destroying the entire mechanism to try and manually unlock..
Unless anyone knows something I dont...
