Map Update (again)

So a while back I updated to 1243 with USB.

A short while later the car update system tells me that the maps need updating and it proceeded to update various of the individual maps.

A further short while later it just wanted to update Russia (don't we all).

So I thought I was good.

And then it asks to update a number of maps but this time says they are too large for in car download. So I go back to my laptop, and download the 'latest update'. Put it in the car and.....

It is still 1243 and now wants to update all the individual maps again. It feels like Groundhog Day.

(My OCD struggles with not updating stuff when told to do so before you tell me just to ignore it.)

(Oh and I am off to Europe shortly so though I'd best be 'up to date')

What am I doing wrong?

Did you download and update the whole of Europe 43gb maps download or just UK, Ireland and Iceland. If the larger update all the individual maps will or should update.

Slightly off at a tangent on this topic but my car has today downloaded and installed NW Europe map version 1246 over the air on a lengthy journey.

The download website however still shows only 1243 as the one available for USB download, presumably this will be updated in the next couple of days?

Probably not a tangent cassell.

I suspect it was telling me to update to 1246 but like you say the website is still on 1243.

nu11eaf - I downloaded the whole shooting match, well you never know when you are going to be in Kazakhstan.

I opened the download app that I installed some months ago on the back of Cassell's comment and prior to your next post, then hit download; it's showing me that it's downloading version 1246 - don't know if the app downloads a different version to what's shown own the website...? Might be worth going straight to the app for anyone that's already installed it.

How do you know what version is currently on?

My car is telling me to update to 1243.

When you are on the update page showing all the different maps by pressing the arrow button with details it brings up a little picture of the associated map and the version number is written below.

The website is now on 1246 which I have put complete into the car. It seems that the movie 'on the road' update is live earlier than the sensus internet site which takes a few days to get to the correct version.

It is still showing 1243 today yet when the NW Europe was downloaded to USB it shows as 1246. Not too sure what I hve therefore downloaded but will see tomorrow when I stick the USB into the hole!

The Volvo site is being very slow updating this time round. Maybe they are all too busy and still drinking their Christmas booze.

I downloaded latest version to a USB drive - plugged in and nothing?

So I did the update OTA last night, it downloaded it via my SIM quite quickly but despite me being in the car for 2 hours today it still shows as "installing update".

How long does it take?
